Housing Minister Reviews Implementation Status of New Beni Suef City Projects

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation status of several infrastructure, services, housing, and road projects in New Beni Suef City to advance work and overcome any obstacles, Invest-Gate reports.

El Sherbini stressed the importance of improving the level of services provided to citizens and attracting investments to the city. He emphasized the need to continue advancing the projects currently underway to achieve the required development and enhance the quality of life while pursuing ambitious projects that meet citizens’ needs and boost investment opportunities.

In this context, Eng. Ahmed Abdel Gaber, Head of the New Beni Suef City Development Authority, explained that utility works (water, drainage, and road paving) are being implemented for the city’s extension area in the residential neighborhoods (seventh, eighth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth) at a total cost of EGP 1 bn, with progress at 85% in most neighborhoods. These areas include distinguished housing lands and social housing with approximately 8,354 plots of land.

Additionally, utilities in two neighborhoods within the 13th residential neighborhood have been completed, and 450 plots of land have been handed over to citizens.

Regarding residential plots, 1,369 plots of social and medium-income housing have been delivered in the Seventh Residential District, and work is underway to re-plan the residential districts to meet investors’ demands.

Abdel Gaber noted that the plan for an area of 120 feddans was modified to include mixed urban activity instead of administrative service activity to enhance the Authority’s resources. An area of 35 feddans has been sold, and another 35 feddans are being made available for real estate investment companies to apply for.
