Housing Minister Sherif El Sherbini held a meeting yesterday to review the progress of projects under the presidential initiative “Decent Life” aimed at developing Egypt’s rural areas, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting was attended by officials from the ministry, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage, the Arab Contarctors, the Executive Agency for Water and Sanitation, and other key stakeholders.
El Sherbini emphasized the critical role of the initiative in improving citizens’ quality of life by providing essential services to targeted villages. He stressed the importance of continuous monitoring of projects, including water and sanitation infrastructure and service facilities, and resolving any challenges that may arise. The minister also highlighted the government’s directive to prioritize locally manufactured materials in construction projects to support domestic industries. He called for a comprehensive assessment of project needs and emphasized the importance of maintenance efforts to ensure the sustainability of completed infrastructure.
