Minister of Housing Reviews Service Status in the Third Residential District “R3” in the New Capital

Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inspected the Third Residential District (R3) in the New Capital during a field tour to follow up on the readiness of services and the sustainability of operations within the district. She was accompanied by Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for Urban Communities, Eng. Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister for Utilities, senior officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority, and the Head of the New Capital Authority, Invest-Gate reports.

During the tour, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy was keen to review the efficiency of operating various vital services. The tour included following up on the provision of services such as places of worship, post offices, civil registry offices, real estate registration offices, as well as nurseries and schools, in addition to the vehicle licensing unit.

She also reviewed the regularity of maintenance and operation works, the status of shops and commercial buildings, as well as the utilization of vacant land plots within the district to achieve the best developmental and service return.

Directives to Enhance Operations and Achieve Quality of Life

In this context, the Minister of Housing directed the necessity of completing the operation of shops and commercial buildings and communicating with investors to expedite their operation, as well as coordinating with the relevant authorities to operate nursery buildings within the district to serve residents.

The Minister affirmed the continued drive to boost development rates and focus on quality of life and integrated services, stressing the necessity of adhering to the highest standards of operation and maintenance to ensure the sustainability of projects and meet the needs and aspirations of residents.

She added that the current phase requires the concerted efforts of all concerned entities to ensure the swift and efficient activation of services, in line with the growing demand for housing and investment in the area.

For her part, Eng. Marwa Hussein, Head of the New Capital Authority, explained that the Third Residential District “Capital Residence – R3” extends over an area of 1,016 feddans and includes 8 neighborhoods, with a total of 24,130 housing units. The units are distributed among 697 buildings comprising 19,944 units, 328 villas, and 157 townhouse buildings totaling 624 units, as well as 64 mixed-use residential buildings comprising 2,560 units.

In addition, there are commercial and administrative spaces totaling 151,360 square meters, and 9 multi-use buildings comprising 674 residential units.
