Eight rural sanitation projects has been completed in Giza and Minya at a total cost of EGP 782 mn, according to a statement from Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly.
The National Authority for Potable Water and Sewage in Cairo and Alexandria has completed the comprehensive sewage project in Atfeeh City located in Giza, in cooperation with the Arab Contractors Co. He noted that the project has a capacity of 34,000 cubic meters per day, which can go up to 64,000 cubic meters.
The project in Atfeeh City cost EGP 421 mn and will serve 550,000 people within the city. The project also includes 3,000 acres of forests on Helwan Road, added Madbouly.
The Minya governorate has also witnessed the expansion of two drinking water projects at a cost of EGP 44.75 mn, expected to serve 430,000 residents, alongside other expansions made in area of Hor Castle at a cost of EGP 105 mn, to serve 130,000 residents. Five rural sanitation projects have also been completed in the governorate of Minya.
