Housing Ministry Officials Conduct Inspection of Road, Utility Projects in New Sphinx City

Ahmed Omran, Assistant Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Development and City Development Sector, has conducted a visit to inspect the projects of the new Sphinx City, Invest-Gate reports.

He was accompanied by Ahmed Ibrahim Anwar, Head of the City Authority, and officials from the competent departments of the Authority.

During the visit, the officials assessed the progress of road and utility projects, including the expansion of the Sphinx axis and the installation of an electrical supply for lighting the Sphinx axis in the first phase, among others. Omran oversaw the expansion of the Sphinx Corridor project, which now features two service lanes in each direction, resulting in a total of five traffic lanes in each direction.

Housing officials also reviewed the planned route of the road, known as the “Zayed/Sphinx Axis,” which involves preliminary chopping and the installation of a water line with a diameter of 400/500 mm. This road will connect the expansions of Sheikh Zayed City, as per Ministerial Resolution No. 77 of 2017, to the Sphinx Axis.

The Sphinx Axis serves as a vital artery for the city, connecting the urban extension of the New Sphinx City to Sheikh Zayed City through a main axis passing through the city center, along with a water line.

Omran emphasized the need for the implementing companies to expedite the completion of the work. He called for increased efforts and work crews to swiftly finish the remaining tasks within the specified timelines while adhering to technical standards and ensuring the quality of work.
