Housing Ministry Officials Monitor Progress of New City Infrastructure Projects

Officials from the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities have taken measures to closely monitor infrastructure projects in New Cairo, October, Badr, and New Sohag cities, Invest-Gate reports.

Ashraf Fathi, Assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Urban Communities Authority for Development and Crisis Management, held an extensive meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to review the progress of infrastructure projects in New Cairo, New October, Badr, and New Sohag.

Attendees included Nora Fouad, Head of the Central Department for Facilities at the Authority, officials from the Development and City Development Sector, and heads of companies executing projects in those cities.

Moreover, Fathi explained that the meeting included a presentation on the current status of ongoing projects, the progress of work, implementation challenges, and an agreement to establish timelines. A comprehensive plan was also developed for regular meetings and site visits to the new cities to monitor infrastructure activities.

In a related context, Fathi conducted an inspection tour in Sadat City to follow up on infrastructure projects. He was accompanied by Yasser Abdel Halim, Head of the City Authority, and officials from the Authority’s Facilities Sector.

Furthermore, housing officials began the visit with a detailed presentation on ongoing infrastructure projects in Sadat City, discussing project details, execution statuses, and obstacles facing some projects.

Subsequently, the housing officials inspected the turbid water intakes on the Nasser winds in Kafr Dawood, which have a design capacity of 110,000 cubic meters per day, ensuring its readiness.

They also inspected the surface water station, which operates at a capacity of 103,000 cubic meters per day. The station is undergoing comprehensive efficiency enhancement works costing EGP90 mn, with an achievement rate of 75%.

Fathi praised the efforts in the ongoing projects, urging continuous work by the schedule and required quality, with continuous monitoring by the agency’s management during project execution.
