In a bid to enhance inter-ministerial collaboration and support Egypt’s sustainable development goals, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbiny and Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi held an extensive meeting at the Ministry of Housing headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both ministries.
El Sherbiny welcomed Shimi, emphasizing the Housing Ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation across government entities to accelerate national development efforts. He stressed the importance of regular follow-ups and joint coordination to ensure timely project completion, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Shimi praised the ongoing partnership with the Housing Ministry, highlighting the role of public sector companies in executing major housing and infrastructure projects. He noted that the expertise and vast capabilities of these companies contribute significantly to project delivery, overcoming challenges, and aligning with the state’s sustainable development agenda. Maximizing the utilization of public assets and enhancing their returns remains a key pillar of the Public Business Sector Ministry’s reform strategy.
The meeting focused on expediting progress on joint projects, particularly in construction and infrastructure development, to improve public services and drive nationwide growth. The ministers reviewed the latest updates from the joint committee overseeing these initiatives.
Discussions also addressed urban planning, real estate development, and optimizing the use of assets owned by public sector companies. The goal is to launch high-quality development projects that maximize the value of these assets while boosting economic productivity and aligning with market demands and citizens’ needs.
Both ministries reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating implementation rates, enhancing urban expansion, and supporting Egypt’s long-term economic and social development objectives.
