Hyde Park Developments Partners with El Adl Group Studios to Launch Musical Celebrating Umm Kulthum’s Legacy

Hyde Park Developments announced a strategic partnership with El Adl Group Studios, led by Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Medhat El Adl, to sponsor the first musical theater production portraying the life and artistic journey of the legendary “Star of the East,” Umm Kulthum, Invest-Gate reports.

The production, marking the 50th anniversary of her passing, will combine live performance with cutting-edge visual and AI technologies to deliver an immersive experience.

Eng. Amin Serag, Managing Director of Hyde Park Developments, said the partnership reflects the company’s strategy to merge real estate development with cultural and artistic enrichment. “We are proud to revive Umm Kulthum’s legacy and present it to new generations in a modern, innovative way. This collaboration is a model of how the private sector can support Egypt’s cultural leadership and create real value for society,” he noted.

Dr. Medhat El Adl emphasized the cultural significance of the project: “Umm Kulthum is not just a great singer but an eternal icon representing the spirit of Egypt and the Arab world. With this musical, we aim to reconnect audiences with her timeless voice while introducing her legacy to younger generations through modern technology.”

The production will highlight key milestones in Umm Kulthum’s career and personal life, featuring the influential musicians, poets, and writers who shaped her journey. It will also showcase innovative stage design, choreography, and costumes to ensure a unique artistic experience. Plans are underway for the musical to be staged not only in Cairo but also on prestigious international platforms, positioning it as a global tribute to Umm Kulthum and enhancing Egypt’s cultural tourism profile.

This initiative builds on Hyde Park Developments’ record of supporting the arts. In 2025, the company hosted notable performances, including a revival of Umm Kulthum’s heritage at Qasr El Nil Theater, concerts by Hiba Tawaji and Oussama Rahbani, a tribute to singer Dalida, and a large-scale event featuring Hussain Al Jassmi, Ahmed Saad, and Disco Misr. These efforts reinforce Egypt’s role as a cultural beacon while boosting its image as a promising investment destination.
