Imbaba Airport and Other Developments Underway, North Giza

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly has dedicated a committee to work on North Giza’s development and the re-use the area of Imbaba Airport,  MENA reported.

The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) has offered lands for investments in the Imbaba Airport project, Madbouly announced on January 20. Meanwhile, Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction Major General Mohammed Nasser stressed that the committee will consider compensation for the affected citizens, following the removal of properties during the airport development. The committee will also set priorities for developing different axes within the highly populated area, while making use of the empty spaces to provide services, green and recreational areas.

Nasser pointed, “We are 98% through with the first phase of the development work and the second phase of the project has already begun.”

The governorate of Giza is currently counting the citizens affected by building removals required to develop different roads for the airport in addition to roads for the residential areas as well.

Furthermore, NUCA has handed over land plots to the designated authorities to implement the service buildings, following the completion of the three primary schools, three power plants, and the ongoing implementation of 13 new youth centers, gardens, as well as two other primary schools.
