Egypt’s property developer Inertia announced that its The Cribs Neighborhood project in Jefaira, located on the North Coast, has been qualified to the final stage at the Cityscape Awards for the Emerging Markets for future residential projects, Invest-Gate reports.
Organized by Cityscape Global on September 25 in Dubai, the UAE, the Cityscape Awards is the most prestigious title that is offered to the most fascinating architecture designs in neighborhoods. The award covers a variety of categories, offering international architects and leading real estate developers a prestigious platform to collaborate and share their future visions.
This year, Jefaira’s Cribs Neighborhood was selected from 60 final nominated projects and thousands of registered projects in all emerging markets, with AURA marking the only Egyptian design firm in the list.
Hussien Sheir, Inertia’s Director, noted that AURA was the architecture design firm behind Cribs, which was founded as an interdisciplinary design practice that specializes in interior, architecture, urbanism, and development. AURA’s projects cover a wide spectrum of sectors, varying from residential to commercial and public developments, with the main goal of creating long-lasting physical narratives.
Sheir further stated, “The Cribs Neighborhood is a one of a kind project, through its extensive fully-finished apartments, mixed with maximum utilization of space. In addition to it overlooking natural elements units, with an open space for recreational activities.”
The neighborhood belongs to Jefaira, an all-year-round destination located over 5.5 mn square meters, the director highlighted. It has one of the longest beach fronts with 3.6 kilometers, with more than 70% of the total area allocated to landscapes and green areas, he added.
The integrated community comprises a unique blend of mixed-use services ranging from a promenade with the full width of the coast to hotels, sports, educational and medical facilities, a convention center, a downtown area, and the North Coast’s largest central park, all to provide residents and potential buyers with a true coastal living experience.
Alaa Mahmoud, chief architect and founding partner at AURA, added: “It is such an honor to be nominated amongst the finest projects in emerging markets and it’s very exciting to drop an international eye on Egyptian new developments as well as Egyptian design firms. Where the successful collaboration between Inertia and AURA has resulted in four international recognitions so far, including MIPIM 2018, World Architecture Festival 2019, Cityscape Egypt 2019, and Cityscape Global 2019.
“All of these recognitions reflected the collaborative vision between both companies in creating JEFAIRA with the highest international standards in design and development,” Mahmoud elucidated.
