Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar said the volume of investments pumped into Shorouk City amount to about EGP 3 bn, stressing that 4,416 social housing units have been finalized, with 2,905 delivered to beneficiaries, Invest-Gate reports.
Besides, 1,176 residential units are being implemented at the city’s JANNA luxury housing project, El Gazzar affirmed during his tour in the various housing and service projects ongoing in the city, accompanied by several ministerial officials and other dignitaries, according to an official statement on October 13.
The minister further stated that 4,032 apartments are under construction in phases I and II of Shorouk City’s Dar Misr project for middle-income housing. Meanwhile, Shorouk City’s Sakan Misr middle-class housing project is seeing the development of 2,520 properties, albeit another 2,147 have been already handed over.
He emphasized that several investors are showing great interest in the urban city, adding that 53 proposals, at an expected return on investment (ROI) of EGP 2.5 bn, have been so far submitted for investment in Shorouk City.
El Gazzar also inspected upgrading works undertaken on-site, where he was briefed by Head of Shorouk City Authority Abdul Raouf El Gheity that five commercial zones are underway, whilst another six have been completed to serve residents and visitors. This comes in addition to the completion of three schools and one nursery in Sakan Misr.
As for the city’s infrastructure advancement, El Gheity revealed that 21 road projects have been executed in Shorouk City, whilst 29 other developments are in progress, with more in the pipeline. He underlined that the city’s electricity network has been 100% revamped and renewed, according to the statement.
