ISDF Concludes Work on Ismailia Fish Market: El Gazzar

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has announced that Egypt’s Informal Settlements Development Fund (ISDF) has concluded the modern fish market project in Ismailia province, Invest-Gate reports.

The new marketplace comes as part of a cooperation protocol signed formerly between Ismailia governor and ISDF to develop and upgrade informal markets and unplanned areas within the city, located northeastern Egypt, El Gazzar said in a ministerial statement on July 6.

On his part, Khaled Siddiq, the fund’s executive director, explained that the fish market consists of two floors, including 40 wholesale outlets, 164 vendor spots, 32 restaurants, six grill shops, two security and management rooms, and a power control room, which are complemented by numerous parking lots.

Back in 2018, the Egyptian Armed Forces embarked on the project, which extends over 12,350 square meters on Ismailia’s Blajat Road, in front of Al-Nawras Village, with works previously scheduled for completion by June 2019, according to a previous statement.
