The Egyptian ministries of international cooperation and transport sign a $301 mn loan agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as the second tranche of development financing for funding the first phase of Cairo Metro’s fourth line, Invest-Gate reports.

The first phase of Cairo Metro’s fourth line covers more than 19 kilometers and comprises 16 stations.

It connects Cairo’s downtown district to Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The transport sector receives $6 billion of the total development finance agreed upon with the Egyptian government until September 2022, Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, comments.
