Jumeirah Group Adds Italy’s Capri Palace to Global Portfolio

Jumeirah Group, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, has announced its appointment to manage and operate the iconic Capri Palace in Anacapri, Italy, marking the company’s sixth European hospitality outpost, Invest-Gate reports.

Reopening in late April 2020, the long-standing hotel will be renamed to “Capri Palace, Jumeirah” and will become Jumeirah’s first Italian hospitality development, the Emirati developer noted in a press release on December 2.

Inspired by the 18th century Neapolitan palazzo, the 68-room property is located on a hillside in Anacapri, overlooking the Gulf of Naples. “Under Jumeirah’s direction, the property is set to continue to go from strength to strength with exciting upgrades and refurbishments in the pipeline,” read the statement.

Capri Palace already features an outdoor pool, private beach, and the Capri Beauty Farm – a medical spa facility. In addition, the hotel boasts two Michelin-starred restaurants – the two-star L’Olivo and the one-star Il Riccio, which is the only beach club worldwide to hold a Michelin star.

Commenting on the move, Jumeirah Group’s CEO José Silva pointed out, “We are proud and excited to welcome Capri Palace, Jumeirah into our portfolio. It is one of Europe’s most recognized and well-respected hotels, with a global reputation and following.”

“Capri Palace, Jumeirah embodies our brand values of providing excellent service, unrivaled culinary experiences and inspiring design, and joins our existing collection of European properties in London, Mallorca, and Frankfurt,” Silva elaborated.

Aside from its hotel portfolio in the Middle East, the group currently owns and operates Jumeirah Frankfurt in Germany, Jumeirah Port Soller in Spain, as well as, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, Grosvenor House Suites Jumeirah, and The Carlton Tower, Jumeirah in the UK. It also manages hotels in China and Maldives, with additional properties planned in Indonesia and Oman for 2020.
