Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has launched new infrastructure development projects worth SAR 7 bn in the Madinah region, Saudi Gazette reports.
The 21 projects are in the sectors of electricity, agriculture, water, education, and transportation.
The Kingdom said earlier it will build one-of-a-kind “mega” cultural, sports, and entertainment city in Al-Qiddiya, southwest of Riyadh, with work on the project to start next year, Saudi Gazette reported earlier.
The country also unveiled a USD 500 bn plan to establish a 26,500 square kilometer independent special zone, NEOM, stretching over three countries including Egypt.
