Global industrial group, Salini Impregilo, which specializes in construction and civil engineering, is leading a consortium that just won a KWD 288.1 million ($ 955 million) contract from Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare, to develop a 29,653 acre residential project, Trade Arabia reported.
The contract is part of South Al Mutlaa Housing Project, 40 kilometers northwest of Kuwait City, and states that the Salini Impregilo consortium will have a 55% stake in the upcoming project.
The project is expected to house 400,000 people, and include modern housing and logistical services, public and commercial areas, hospitals, schools and social services.
The consortium will be responsible for the construction of 150 kilometers of roads, lighting infrastructure, water facilities, drainage and sewage systems, electricity work, and many necessary services.
