Lazard to Promote Egypt’s Investment Opportunities Worldwide

Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation has inked an agreement with financial advisory firm Lazard to promote investment opportunities in Egypt worldwide, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2019 in Davos, Switzerland, and in the attendance of Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Invest-Gate reports.

Signed by Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr, the deal comes in line with the government’s wider plan to boost foreign investments in Egypt and to attract major international investment firms into the country, according to a ministerial statement on January 23.

“Our goal is to attract major investment companies that would contribute to creating new job opportunities and increase exports while benefiting from international expertise in the field of promoting investment,” Nasr was quoted as saying.

The minister added that Egypt’s presence in the forum aims to convey a message that the country is ready to lure more investments after the comprehensive economic reforms adopted, paving the way to more private sector participation in the economy and in varying strategic sectors.

Egypt has participated in this year’s World Economic Forum annual meeting with a massive delegation, headed by Madbouly and including the Ministers of Industry and Trade, Tourism, Finance, and Investment.
