Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development Mostafa Madbouly announces the completion of five drinking water projects in Kafr El-Sheikh costing EGP 144 mn as well as three sanitation projects worth EGP 212 mn to be finalized by the end of 2018, Invest-Gate reports.
The implementation of the three urban sanitation projects include a sanitation system in Baltim, to be completed in December 2019, the expansion of El Reyad treatment plant, and the expansion of the Metobas treatment plant – both are in the process of completion, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday, May 21.
According to Head of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation Sayed Al-Ashri, sanitation services will be delivered to 27 out of 262 villages, representing 10.4% of the total villages in the governorate, the statement added.
Also in the statement, assistant Minister of Housing for Utilities Affairs Tarek Rifai is quoted as saying that there are 27 drinking water projects already implemented in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate with a capacity of 71.5 thousand cubic meters per day at a cost of EGP 2.8 bn.
Meanwhile, the ministry also reveals in a statement released on Sunday, May 20, the implementation of infrastructure networks in Nasser City in West Assiut – which include sewage, roads, irrigation, and water networks.
These projects are being executed on an area of 1600 acres, as the first phase of the project.
The cost of implementing these projects in Nasser City is EGP 1.8 bn and they are scheduled for completion by March 2019, Madbouly is quoted in the statement as saying.
