Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, met today with Geologist Adel Said, the Chairman of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Golden Triangle, at the government headquarters in the New Alamein City to follow up on the development project of the Golden Triangle in the Eastern Desert, Invest-Gate reports.
Madbouly stresses the Egyptian government’s keenness to ensure the success of its plans to develop this region as one of its major national projects, given its strategic location and potential for sustainable development.
He directed that one of the areas in “Safaga” should be prioritized in the early stages of the Golden Triangle economic development project, focusing on calculating the cost of providing facilities to the area to implement the infrastructure plan.
Said explains the investment opportunities in the economic zone through a study prepared by a specialized company in this field. He indicates that the area has been divided into several activities, including industrial activity, with lands allocated to implementing some industrial projects in the 9.1 industrial zone in Safaga.
In addition to the agricultural activity, the area includes four agrarian areas, with the largest areas located toward Qena Governorate, relying on groundwater, as well as tourist activity, which includes six tourist areas covering a total area of 615 km2, to cover the coastal tourist areas and others.
The Cabinet spokesperson, Ambassador Nader Saad, states that the meeting reviewed several work axes for the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Golden Triangle during the next stage, including developing plans for global marketing of the projects targeted for this vital area.
It is worth noting that a database is currently being created for the Authority, and the Chairman of the Authority presented illustrative images of the Authority’s headquarters in Safaga and the work methods there.
