Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly addressed a roundtable with African housing ministers at the 12th World Urban Forum, held at the Grand Egyptian Museum, Invest-Gate reports.
The gathering was joined by key African ministers and UN-Habitat representatives and focused on regional urban development challenges and sustainable growth initiatives.
Welcoming attendees, Madbouly highlighted the importance of leveraging collective experience to tackle shared challenges. He noted, “This roundtable presents a valuable opportunity for African nations to exchange best practices and innovative solutions, fostering inclusive and sustainable development.”
Madbouly emphasized the significance of the forum’s return to Africa after 22 years and Egypt’s alignment with Africa’s Agenda 2063, prioritizing the continent’s development needs. He reiterated Egypt’s commitment to sustainable progress across African states, advocating for “African solutions to African problems” and reinforcing regional cooperation.
Acknowledging Africa’s rapid urbanization and growing youth population, Madbouly stressed the importance of partnerships with international development agencies and the private sector to capitalize on urban growth opportunities. He called for coordinated efforts to achieve structural transformation and socio-economic advancement across the continent.
Concluding his remarks, Madbouly expressed hope for constructive discussions that would benefit Africa’s progress, prosperity, and integration on the global stage.
