Madbouly Reviews Progress of Light Rail Transit Project in East Cairo

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to review the progress of the remaining phases of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in East Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

At the start of the meeting, Madbouly emphasized the importance of modern public transportation in accelerating new city development and providing a high-quality, safe transit system. He praised the LRT’s operation, noting that it now transports tens of thousands of passengers daily, including government employees commuting to the New Administrative Capital.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development provided an update, stating that the LRT spans 113 km with 20 stations across five phases. The first phase, which runs 65.63 km from Adly Mansour station through El Salam, Al Obour, Mostakbal, El Shorouk, and Badr, connecting north to 10th of Ramadan City and south to the New Administrative Capital, has been fully completed.

The second phase, stretching over 3 km from the Capital Airport station to the City of Arts and Culture, is also 100% complete.
