Madbouly Visits New Alamein for Latest Updates

Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development Mostafa Madbouly revealed on February 9 that 15 41-story residential towers are currently under construction in New Alamein’s coastal towers area, Invest-Gate reports.

This came during Madbouly’s inspection tour of a number of mega development projects being implemented at the new city, accompanied with several officials from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), according to a recent official statement.

During the tour, Madbouly was explicitly informed with the status of projects being implemented at the coastal towers, recreation area, town hall, private universities, as well as, the the implementation process of the traditional city, Latin quarter, and New Alamein’s industrial area, according to the release, which confirmed that work began on 4 mn square meters of the city’s new industrial zone.

Various facilities have been connected to the new city, while the entertainment area is scheduled to be operational by next summer, Madbouly stated.

In this regard, Vice President of NUCA Abdulmutallab Mamdouh has announced the start of the experimental operation of New Alamein’s desalination plant, with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day, noting that the station will soon be fully operational after supplying it with electricity, in addition to the completion of the water carrier line to supply the new city with a diameter of 1500 millimeters of desalinated water.

On his part, Head of New Alamein City Authority Osama Abdelghany said the under-implementation projects at the new city are providing about 80,000 job opportunities, stressing that the authority is offering financial abstracts to the contracting companies executing the projects with a monthly value of about EGP 2.5 bn, reflecting the size of the major projects being implemented in the city.

Meanwhile, construction of a 98-acre integrated urban community has commenced, which includes a handful of units with varying modules, Abdelghany revealed, adding that the authority has finalized the site’s earthworks and began working on the surface foundations and concrete structure of 16 villas at the project.

In addition, Abdelghany unveiled that the authority is in the process of issuing a ministerial decision to adopt the planning and division of a 500-acre land plot to establish another residential complex, adjacent to Marina Alamein’s tourist center, overlooking the main Alamein yacht area, according to the statement.

Following his visit to the New Alamein city, Madbouly, alongside other officials, has paid a visit to Marina Alamein’s tourist center, which NUCA is seeking to restore to be a distinguished place among the Red Sea coast’s tourist areas via improving the efficiency and development of infrastructure, including a number of road, utility, and transportation projects.
