Madinet Masr and the Egyptian Food Bank (EFB) sign a cooperation agreement to implement the Iftar Saeem program in the Assiut governorate, Invest-Gate reports.
Madinet Masr offers 250 iftar meals every day and donates 10,000 food boxes to support the needs of 53,000 unprivileged families in the region.
The Iftar Saeem program, which targets underprivileged families throughout the holy month of Ramadan, is part of the EFB’s initiative to distribute one million food packages and host 100 “mercy” free-food tables across Egypt.
The agreement relies on the bank’s extensive database, which includes the most vulnerable individuals and families in Egypt, including 34,000 families in Assiut.
Abdallah Sallam, CEO and Managing Director of Madinet Masr, says the cooperation with the EFB is an essential part of the company’s strategy to support local communities through charity and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
He adds that the partnership aims to serve as many beneficiaries as possible, starting in Assiut and expanding to other governorates across Egypt.
Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of the EFB, expresses gratitude for Madinet Masr’s support and trust in the organization’s mission to eliminate hunger in Egypt.
He notes that the Iftar Saeem program is one of the bank’s key activities, implemented under the slogan “Food… A Basic Life Need” which aims to provide 50 mn meals to needy people during the holy month of Ramadan.
