Madinet Masr Partners with Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation to Support the New Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Cairo

Madinet Masr has announced a strategic partnership with the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYF) to support the establishment of the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Cairo. The collaboration aligns with the company’s “Cultivating Communities” sustainability and CSR strategy and underscores its role in advancing specialized healthcare in Egypt, Invest-Gate reports.

Under the partnership, Madinet Masr will fund the setup of a pediatric intensive care cubicle at the new Cairo centre and contribute to open-heart surgeries at the Aswan Heart Centre. The donation aims to strengthen MYF’s capacity to deliver free, world-class cardiac care—particularly for children—and expand access to life-saving services nationwide.

Eng. Abdallah Sallam, President & CEO of Madinet Masr, said: “This collaboration is a powerful testament to our ‘Cultivating Communities’ strategy for sustainable development and CSR, which places people’s health and well-being at the core of our priorities stemming from its holistic vision. True development cannot be achieved without caring for people, and healthcare remains one of its key pillars. Our contribution to Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre is a strategic investment in the lives of Egyptians and the future of medical care across the region. We believe that supporting national capabilities and leading institutions like the Magdi Yacoub Foundation strengthens Egypt’s capabilities in providing world-class healthcare and creates a lasting impact that transcends generations. We extend our sincere gratitude to Sir Magdi Yacoub and his exceptional team for their pioneering efforts that continue to elevate Egypt’s position in global medicine, and we look forward to the positive impact of this partnership on our community.”

Dena Habib, Vice President of Corporate Relations at Madinet Masr, commented: “This strategic partnership marks an important milestone stemming from the Madinet Masr’s commitment to implementing its ‘Cultivating Communities’ strategy as a comprehensive approach to sustainable development and CSR. At Madinet Masr, we view sustainability as an integrated framework that redefines the role of the private sector in driving community development and creating a truly positive and lasting impact. Supporting the establishment and operation of the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Center embodies this approach by leveraging the company’s capabilities and partnerships to serve key development goals that enhance quality of life and foster a healthier, more prosperous society. This initiative represents a strategic investment in people, the true drivers of development, and reflects the company’s role as an active partner in shaping a more sustainable future for generations to come.”

Dina El-Gazzar, Chief Development & Fundraising Officer at the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, added: “The collaboration with Madinet Masr, private sector and civil society is crucial at this stage. This partnership is not limited to financial support only; but also goes beyond that to become a genuine investment in the future of healthcare. This type of collaboration helps us reach a greater number of heart patients, enhance our medical services, and support innovation in scientific research to reinforce the principle of equity in access to healthcare. Our partners represent an essential part of our journey; they contribute to advancing our expansion projects, including the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre, as well as supporting the provision of high-quality medical services to the most vulnerable communities. Thanks to this joint cooperation, we are able to transform health challenges into new opportunities for life for thousands of patients.”

The partnership forms part of Madinet Masr’s wider commitment to community development, particularly in the healthcare sector. The company has recently supported several initiatives, including collaboration with Baheya Hospital to assist breast cancer survivors and raise awareness on early detection, alongside ongoing partnerships with various organizations under its community development programs.
