Egyptian General Authority for Roads, Bridges, and Land Transport (GARBLT) completed maintenance work on 500 kilometers on the existing road network, at a cost of EGP 1.3 billion, reported Amwal Al Ghad.
The road maintenance work is part of the GARBLT’s plan to improve the roads’ efficiency and upgrade them, said Adel Tork, Chairperson of GARBLT. “It took one year for the maintenance work to be completed.”
Eight bridges were established in different governorates at a cost of EGP 1.4 billion, said Tork. GARBLT performed the maintenance work and the upgrades, in cooperation with public contracting firms, said Tork.
