Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, inaugurates its Mall of Egypt Road in partnership with the New Urban Communities Authority and the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority, Invest-gate reports.
The road is opened under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.
The six-kilometer road is established in partnership with the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority, with an investment of over EGP 100 mn, providing the community with alternative routes to and from various key locations within 6th of October City and Sheikh Zayed City.
The project also includes the road’s lighting and landscaping, further showcasing Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to positively contributing to the country’s infrastructure.
The opening is attended by Adel El Naggar, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, on behalf of Assem el Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Representative Saboura El-Sayed, a member of the House of Representatives and Assistant Secretary of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, Hani Shaker, Chairman of the Security Council, Hanan Abdel-Azim, Deputy Head of the 6th of October City Authority, Major General Amgad Anwar, Director of the General Administration of Giza Traffic, and Radi Khalil, Deputy Head of the 6th of October Authority, amongst other governmental figures, in addition to some of the region’s top real estate leaders.
“The implementation of this road is the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, and the private sector, represented by Majid Al Futtaim. The project showcases the Authority’s keenness in involving the private sector in the country’s development witnessed during President El-Sisi’s presidency, specifically with regards to the establishment of new cities, which the authority is currently contributing to, along with a number of investors – all with a total investment of 1.1 tn,” El Naggar comments.
