Majid Al Futtaim, a leading retail and leisure pioneer in the Middle East, is allocating AED 1 bn (USD 270 mn)  for installing 600 VOX cinema screens across different locations in the Arab and Middle East region by 2020, Invest-Gate reports.
“VOX cinemas are set to revolutionize the entertainment market in Egypt with its unique and innovative cinematic concepts as well as its new technologies and experiences guaranteed to create great moments,” says Omar El Banna, Country Head at Majid Al Futtaim – Ventures.
El Banna adds that his company is bringing the expertise, technology, and success stories behind VOX cinemas, pointing out that such type of cinema has struck a chord with Egyptians’ passion for cinema.
The announcement came during the inauguration of VOX cinemas at the Mall of Egypt in 6th of October City. The cinemas are run by VOX Cinemas, Majid Al Futtaim Group’s cinema arm.
VOX Cinemas at Mall of Egypt features 21 screens inside huge halls, accommodating 2,300 viewers through four unique and exciting cinematic experiences.
Mall of Egypt recently launched in Egypt with total investments worth 6.3 bn EGP. The shopping mall is located along the Wahat Road in 6th of October City and encompasses an area of 165,000 square metres, bringing a new, luxurious experience to the Egyptian market.
