Dubai-based retail and leisure developer Majid Al Futtaim plans to establish a new mall in Oman, Invest-Gate reports.
The developer will grow its existing portfolio with the new City Center Sohar Mall valued at investments worth OMR 45 mn.
Due to open in late 2018, the mall will add 40,000 square meters of gross leasable area to the sultanate’s retail sector.
The construction contract for the mall has been awarded to the Oman-based Al Turki Enterprise, with the work to commence in November 2017.
Majid Al Futtaim Properties operates its newly-upgraded City Centre Qurum, as well as City Center Muscat which recently underwent an OMR-27-mn expansion.
My City Center Sur is also in the pipeline, as is Mall of Oman, set to be the sultanate’s biggest shopping center with investment of OMR 275 mn.
