Majid Al Futtaim announced that it plans to redevelop its City Centre in Ajman, aiming to boost the size of the shopping center to 52,000 square meters from an initial 29,000 square meters,  Trade Arabia reported.

The expansion is worth AED 600 million and will feature 150 retail and dining outlets, VOX cinemas with innovative 4DX screens and theaters for children.

The expansion will be finalised during the third quarter of 2017, and is scheduled to be renovated later on.

The redevelopment of City Center Ajman will create several hundred new job opportunities, and comes amid Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to invest AED 30 billion in the UAE by the end of 2026. By the end of this period, the company’s total investments in the UAE will amount to AED 48 billion.

The new City Center Ajman will deliver the highest standard of design and various choices to meet the increasing demand of the growing population and tourists, which will moreover contribute to the emirate’s economic and employment landscapes, according to Gulf Business.

The mall’s public facilities will also feature some enhancements, such as prayer rooms, rest rooms with water-saving fittings, and LED lights installed throughout the mall.
