Major Progress Announced for Fairmont Hotel at Sun Capital Project During Housing Minister’s Visit

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour in the October Gardens City and several new cities. During his visit, he followed up on the progress of the “Sun Capital” project, which is a collaboration between the ministry and the Arabia Group in 6th of October City, Invest-Gate reports.

The minister was accompanied by officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, the city administration, and project representatives. Eng. Sherif El Sherbini expressed his satisfaction with the Sun Capital project, recognizing it as a successful model of partnership between the Egyptian government and the private sector, and praised the quality of the finishes and the overall site of the project.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Arabia Group announced the significant completion of construction works for the Fairmont Hotel within its flagship “Sun Capital” project in October Gardens. They indicated that the concrete structure is expected to be completed by the end of next year. The foundations, columns, and ceilings for the first and second basements, covering a total area of 64,000 square meters, have already been finished, in addition to the ground floor. The group looks forward to commencing finishing works in the second quarter of 2025, with the hotel expected to be fully operational by 2028.

In this context, Eng. Tarek Shokry, the non-executive chairman of the Arabia Group, commended the substantial support provided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities to the private sector. He emphasized the flexibility and streamlined procedures that have facilitated the project’s progress.

Shokry also highlighted the importance of regular project visits to ensure meticulous monitoring of the work’s progress, which contributes to accelerating achievements and meeting project objectives. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering the project on schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards in all aspects.

The “Sun Capital” project represents a comprehensive model of a modern city, featuring a diverse array of services that cater to the needs of its residents and visitors. The project spans 575 feddans, with 60% allocated for residential purposes, totaling 2.4 million square meters. The remaining areas are designated for mixed-use purposes, including 15,000 non-hotel residential and administrative units, currently home to over 1,000 residents. The project also generates both direct and indirect job opportunities for 20,000 individuals, significantly contributing to the local economy.

Additionally, the project encompasses a variety of integrated services, including residential buildings and villas, recreational areas, an investment zone with a university and a university hospital, international hotels, and international schools, as well as commercial and administrative facilities, making it an ideal destination for investment and living.

The Arabia Group has delivered several residential units to clients and fully operationalized the sports club to meet residents’ needs. They have also opened an international school that is fully operational, enhancing the quality of life within the project. The company continues its efforts to ensure an integrated and distinguished environment for residents and visitors of “Sun Capital,” contributing to sustainable growth and an improved standard of living.
