MARAKEZ, the leading award-winning mixed-use real estate developer in Egypt, held a press conference at Villa M by MARAKEZ to announce its sponsorship of the MARAKEZ Pyramids Half Marathon for the third consecutive year, Invest-Gate reports.
The event was attended by Ahmed Abdelkhalek, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, and Lucas Raulet, Deputy Director of the French Institute in Egypt, highlighting MARAKEZ’s unwavering commitment to supporting the nation’s sports events and athletes, as well as its ongoing partnership with The TriFactory.
The MARAKEZ Pyramids Half Marathon, set to take place on December 14, 2024, at the historic Great Pyramids of Giza, invites runners from around the world to #RaceThroughHistory, offering distances of 21K, 10K, and 5K. It is one of Egypt’s most prestigious athletic events, encouraging runners of all ages and abilities to participate in an extraordinary race through 5,000 years of history.
This sponsorship aligns with MARAKEZ’s strategic focus on social responsibility and reflects the company’s broader objective of fostering a culture of physical activity. Over the years, MARAKEZ has championed sports by sponsoring young talent and professional athletes, including Olympians at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and Hana Goda, the youngest table tennis star, who recently won a bronze medal in Sweden.
Lucas Raulet, Deputy Director of the French Institute in Egypt, added, “The MARAKEZ Pyramids Half Marathon is a wonderful example of how sports can unite people, especially youth, around values like solidarity, mutual respect, engagement, and cultural diversity. The use of sport as a lever for development, education, and equality is at the core of the Franco-Egyptian relationship. The number of French participants in this year’s edition underscores its importance for us.”
“At MARAKEZ, we are committed to supporting Egyptian athletes and promoting sports and active lifestyles. This is why we take pride in sponsoring events like the MARAKEZ Pyramids Half Marathon. It’s fantastic to see athletes from around the globe come together to participate,” stated Dasha Badrawi, Executive Vice Chairman of MARAKEZ.
