Marriott International and Saudi-based Dur Hospitality have announced the opening of Riyadh Marriott Hotel Diplomatic Quarter and Marriott Executive Apartments Riyadh, Diplomatic Quarter, marking the fifth collaboration between both entities, Invest-Gate reports.

Featuring 80 guestrooms and 140 serviced apartments, the complex is the first five-star full-service hotel in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter. It offers state-of-the-art business facilities and innovative spaces, while catering to the needs of both business and leisure travelers, according to an official statement on March 20.

The hotel offers multiple recreational areas surrounded by lush greenery, in addition to facilities such as an open-air swimming pool, 24-hour fitness centers, Saray Spa, three dining venues, to name a few.

“Meeting the highest standards for energy and environmental (LEED) Gold Certification requirements, the hotel site creates a protected micro-climate and maximizes on environmental impacts,” read the statement.

“By amplifying useful daylight via complex reflection processes, the hotel can decrease its illumination needs during the day. Plentiful shaded areas and the building’s structure allow for natural ventilation, reducing the need for air conditioning and additional cooling,” it added.

As for location, the complex is in close proximity to key embassies and major corporate headquarters, and is a 30-minute drive from King Khalid International Airport.
