The multinational hospitality company Marriott International reveals investment plans in New El-Alamein City, Invest-Gate reports.
The company seeks to build three hotels that cater to all social classes in the city, Marriott International Middle East and Africa president and managing director, Alex Kyriakidis, said during a meeting with Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Wednesday.
The city spans nearly 50,000 feddan, with a coastline of over 14 kilometers, Madbouly said during the meeting. The minister also noted that the city should provide 25,000 hotel and resort rooms, a ministry statement read.
The government is currently developing the New El-Alamein City’s infrastructure. The work will include constructing roads as well as creating electricity grids and sewage, water, and irrigation networks.
The Housing Ministry announced earlier that it would start construction work on 15 towers in the city by the beginning of October in addition to finalizing 1,920 residential units already built in the area.
