Mauritius’ Minister of Public Infrastructure and Land Transport Nandcoomar Bodha stated that his country has projects in the infrastructure sector with investments of nearly USD 2 bn, revealing his desire to cooperate with Egyptian construction companies to implement tunnels, similar to the Suez Canal tunnels, in his country, Invest-Gate reports.
In addition, Bodha praised the quality of Egypt’s infrastructure projects and said he is willing to cooperate in importing construction products and materials manufactured in Egypt for the tunnels’ construction, according to a ministerial statement on October 9.
The minister’s announcement came during his meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development Mostafa Madbouly, alongside his delegation, in the presence of Hassan Abdel Aziz, chairman of Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC) as well as officials of Egyptian contracting companies.
On his part, Madbouly pointed out Egypt’s readiness to cooperate with Mauritius in various fields, particularly due to the vast number of Egyptian advisory offices and contracting companies that have achieved successes in implementing projects in many African countries.
Bodha has toured a number of projects during his visit to Egypt, including the social housing project in Badr City and the New Administrative Capital.
