Mr. Gasser Bahgat, Chairman and CEO of Melee, participated in the World Stadiums and Arena Development Summit, the leading platform for industry leaders to drive the development of sports facilities, Invest-Gate reports.

This participation is part of Melee’s efforts to promote the concept of social sports clubs in Egypt. The summit was attended by experts and specialists in the sports facilities industry, as well as several government officials from Saudi Arabia.

Melee’s involvement in the summit focused on its interest in social and sports clubs. Bahgat delivered a presentation titled “Between Authenticity and Modernity – An Egyptian Vision for the Future of Social and Sports Clubs in the Kingdom.”

He explored the potential for developing a new generation of social and sports clubs in Saudi Arabia, drawing on the rich history and evolving landscape of social sports clubs in Egypt. For decades, these clubs have served as vibrant community hubs, evolving from mere sports venues to gathering places for different generations to exchange views and engage in community interaction. The presentation also highlighted the pivotal role clubs play in shaping Egyptian society and culture.

In this context, Bahgat stated: “For many years, Egyptian sports clubs have been at the heart of our communities, evolving into social hubs that reflect our culture and values. I am truly excited to explore how this model can be adapted and expanded in the Kingdom, creating spaces that celebrate heritage, promote inclusion, and improve the quality of life for all, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which represents a wonderful opportunity to redefine social and urban life.”

It is worth noting that Melee is the first Egyptian company to recognize the importance of cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in this field. It has signed an agreement with Adeer International, a subsidiary of Adeer Holding, and Sumou Holding, a well-known Saudi company specializing in real estate investment and community development.

Melee will establish a specialized company to manage, develop, and operate social sports clubs in the Kingdom, disseminating Egyptian expertise and experience in this field throughout the region, in light of the growing demand for high-quality recreational facilities.
