Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly announced that the construction of a new 16-meter-long and 21-meter-wide axis in Menoufia worth EGP 500 mn will be completed by the Central Agency for Reconstruction (CAR) by the end of September 2018.

The axis connects the city of Shebin El-Kom to the Sadat City road at Tamlai village. It also provides a direct link between Cairo-Alexandria desert road in Sadat city, and Cairo-Alexandria agricultural road in Banha city, saving time and easing traffic between the two roads.

The axis will also serve the towns and villages on both sides of the axis and contributes to the development of Sadat City.

Major General Mostafa El-Agouz, head of CAR, said that the axis intersects with many canals, banks, and roads, necessitating 26 industrial works at these intersections, as part of the axis work including 10 upper bridges, 5 surface bridges, in addition to 11 tunnels. Also, a three-meter service road will be implemented on both sides of the road.

He added that 80% of the road work and 90% of the industrial work are completed.
