Metito Builds Historic Partnership for Water Security in Kazakhstan

Metito, a global leader in water management solutions, has inked a significant agreement with the Kazakhstan Investment Development Fund (KIDF), Kazakhstan Centre for Modernization and Development of Housing and Communal Services JSC, and Akimat of Akmola region to spearhead a transformative wastewater treatment project in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan, Invest-Gate reports.

The agreement, signed at the Central Asia Pavilion during the 28th UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP28), signifies a landmark Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Kazakhstan’s water and wastewater sector.

Moreover, eminent officials were present at the signing, including Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy, Almassadam Satkaliyev, and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Yerlan Nyssanbayev.

For his part, Metito’s CEO, Rami Ghandour, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Kazakhstan in addressing water security concerns, citing President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s emphasis on water conservation.

Also, Zhandos Temirgali, Acting Chairman of Kazakhstan’s national investment agency KAZAKH INVEST, hailed the partnership to attract investment and advanced technologies to enhance sewage systems.

With Kazakhstan facing projected water shortages, Metito’s investment in the Kokshetau project aims to mitigate future crises.

On the sidelines, Ghandour affirmed the company’s commitment to delivering exemplary infrastructure through PPP models, aiming to set new standards in the region’s development.
