MIDAR Launches MERCATO District, Mostakbal City’s Largest Service Area

MIDAR, the leading city development company, announced the launch of the MERCATO district, one of the largest integrated service areas in Mostakbal City, Invest-Gate reports.

It spans 22 acres in the third phase, aiming to meet all the residents’ needs, with current investments reaching EGP 500 mn and future investments planned to reach EGP 1 bn.

Ayman Elkousey, Managing Director and CEO of MIDAR, confirmed the company’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations towards one of its major projects in Egypt, Mostakbal City in New Cairo. He stated that MIDAR is making every effort to provide a unique model of multi-purpose smart cities.

Elkousey explained that the MERCATO district includes the first mosque in Mostakbal City called Al-Mo’ezz Mosque, which covers an area of 2.3 acres with its dedicated services and can accommodate 2,800 mosques.

Moreover, the ceremony also witnessed the official operation announcement of WAYZ, one of the subsidiaries of MIDAR, responsible for the city’s transportation system. Its purpose is to connect the main axes and roads from outside the city to Mostakbal City, contributing to increasing the city’s occupancy rates and facilitating internal connectivity between stages and different areas of the city.

Additionally, routes for the transportation system were designated, including the metro, 90th Street, Heliopolis, and Nasr City.

Furthermore, the actual operation commencement of the VIBES district was announced, marking the first entertainment project in the initial phase of the Future City.

It covers an area of 16 acres, with 2.5 acres dedicated to an air-conditioned indoor badminton sports hall featuring five panoramic courts, including a main court with international standards for hosting tournaments.

The district also includes an entertainment services area with four multiplied cafeterias, according to the area’s general plan, a medical clinic, a supermarket, and a bus station.

Mostakbal City spans 5,200 acres, including 500 acres of green spaces, and its master plan encompasses all urban and service patterns.
