Eng. Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted a surprise Inspection in New Cairo City this morning, accompanied by Engineer Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister for Utilities, and officials from the Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority, Invest-Gate reports.
The visit aimed to follow up on the implementation of directives to enhance service levels, ensure discipline within the new cities, and prevent any random or illegal activities that could affect citizen services or the city’s urban appearance, according to Investgate.
Surprise Inspection to Monitor New Cities
During the tour, the Minister inspected several main roads, housing projects, and ongoing maintenance, cleaning, and operational works, emphasizing the full adherence to quality standards. She also stressed the need to intensify inspection campaigns and take immediate action against any violations.
The Minister also visited the “Dar Misr Al-Andalus” project in the Third Settlement, comprising 70 buildings, to follow up on ongoing works, including upgrading and landscaping.
Citizen Satisfaction and Violation Resolution Are Top Priorities
The Minister emphasized that field follow-ups are ongoing to ensure general discipline and preserve the distinctive urban character of new cities, in line with the directives of the political leadership to provide urban services worthy of citizens. She highlighted that this is a shared responsibility requiring full commitment and discipline from all concerned authorities.
Engineer Randa El Menshawy confirmed that the Ministry’s departments are working under state directives to provide services that match the scale of development in new cities, and that citizen satisfaction is the main measure of success. She stressed the importance of direct interaction with citizens’ complaints and the prompt resolution of issues.
At the end of the tour, the Minister directed the intensification of daily campaigns to remove encroachments and violations, review the level of cleanliness and maintenance, and enhance the quality of green spaces.
