Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbini has confirmed the progress in infrastructure projects and service developments in New Sohag City’s expansion area, Invest-Gate reports.
The minister approved implementing medium—and low-voltage electricity networks and street lighting in the city’s 735-acre expansion zone to enhance services and boost urban development.
Sherif Abdel Badie Mohamed, Head of the New Sohag City Authority, inspected ongoing road paving projects leading to the social housing units in the 735-feddans area. He emphasized the importance of adhering to technical specifications during road preparations.
Additionally, Abdelbadea oversaw the cleaning and maintenance of manholes and their covers in the 127-feddans upscale housing area and street lighting and maintenance in the 138-building social housing zone.
Also, El Sherbini inspected the administrative building and the expanded technological center, which now includes more waiting areas and service windows to improve service efficiency and reduce wait times. A new office dedicated to major investors has been established to facilitate investment requests.
Work continues at the new technological center, while services remain uninterrupted at the current facility. Abdelbadea affirmed that this expansion is part of ongoing efforts to attract residents to New Sohag City and enhance living standards.
He also visited the recently inaugurated Ibad Al-Rahman Mosque in the 138-building area. The 700 sqm mosque includes a prayer hall for women and a Quran memorization room.
