Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities held a meeting to follow up on the progress of infrastructure works and land regularization requests in the cities of the 6th of October, Sheikh Zayed, and New October, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting was attended by the ministry’s officials, representatives from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and the heads of the cities’ development authorities.
During the meeting, Adel El-Nagar, the Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, presented a report on the status of land regularization in the Green Belt area, with a total area of 12,494 acres.
So far, 2,032 requests for land regularization have been submitted in the city, covering a total area of 11,970.34 acres, excluding the areas that are suspended from transactions or have dual allocation.
Ahmed Mustafa, the Head of Sheikh Zayed City Development Authority, presented a report as well on the status of land regularization for lands added to the city under Presidential Decrees 77 and 230 of 2017.
A number of 570 requests for land regularization have been submitted in the city for lands falling under the Presidential Decree 230 of 2017, with 524 requests, covering an area of 2,279 acres, already studied, and 46 requests, covering 131 acres, currently under review.
Infrastructure works are underway for the remaining areas covered by the decree, including 22 investment opportunities in various activities, such as residential, integrated urban, and commercial.
Furthermore, 611 requests for land regularization have been submitted for lands falling under the Presidential Decree 77 of 2017, with 609 requests, covering an area of 3,583.5 acres, already studied, and two requests, covering 8.5 acres, currently under review.
Mohamed Abdelmaksoud, the Head of the New October City Development Authority, presented also a report on the status of land regularization for lands under Law No. 144 of 2017 in which a total of 1,428 requests, covering an area of 36,936 acres, have been submitted, and 1,397 requests, representing 98% of the total submissions, have been reviewed.
