Emphasizing the need to accelerate the project’s implementation, El Sherbini also called for the initiation of marketing the ministry’s share in the project.
During his first tour of partnership projects between the New Urban Communities Authority and real estate developers, El Sherbini directed the preparation of detailed timelines for the execution of various components in each project area.
He mandated weekly schedules of tasks to be completed, with field visits from the minister’s technical office to prepare weekly progress reports. Stressing the importance of safety and occupational health procedures, El Sherbini highlighted the urgency of completing surrounding roadworks.
The Minister toured the different sections of the iCity project and received a detailed briefing from Mountain View officials. The project, spanning 500 acres, is divided into three residential zones equipped with sports fields, open spaces, and lakes. A fourth, mixed-use area comprises administrative offices and commercial shops. Over 8,000 units have been developed, with 45% already delivered.
Amr Soliman, Chairman and CEO of Mountain View, expressed gratitude to the Minister for his visit and engagement with real estate developers. This partnership marks Mountain View’s first collaboration with the Egyptian government.
Soliman highlighted the vital role of the real estate sector in achieving the strategic national development plan, Egypt 2052.
Also, Soliman reaffirmed the developers’ commitment to deepen cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, hoping for regular discussions on plans and challenges within the real estate development sector. This collaborative effort aims to enhance development rates and drive the Egyptian economy forward.
