At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the delegation, stressing that the meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry’s ongoing coordination with leading international companies to explore avenues of cooperation in various fields, particularly in the construction sector and sustainable development.
El-Sherbiny highlighted that the Ministry places great importance on a number of key criteria in its cooperation with global companies, foremost among them reducing costs through the use of modern building technologies, while also giving due consideration to the time factor, as the Ministry seeks to implement all its development plans within record timeframes, alongside ensuring the highest standards of quality.
He further explained that, in light of the Egyptian state’s orientation toward sustainable development and green urbanism, future cooperation should include innovative, environmentally friendly building solutions across all housing typologies implemented by the Ministry, whether for low- and middle-income housing, luxury housing, or high-rise towers.
For their part, Saint-Gobain officials expressed their pleasure at the meeting and their aspiration to cooperate with the Ministry of Housing in the fields of building materials, energy efficiency improvement, and reduction of thermal loads, through the use of technologies that help lower energy consumption and emissions, and by providing products that support sustainable construction and green buildings.
The delegation also praised the New Administrative Capital, expressing their admiration for its planning and describing it as a leading model of advanced scientific urban planning in the region.
It is worth noting that Saint-Gobain is a global company that ranks first worldwide in the integration of building materials solutions. It operates in more than 70 countries and enjoys a strong presence in Egypt and the Middle East.
