Eng. Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with Ms. May Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, to follow up on the status of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” and the registration process on the Egypt Digital Platform for obtaining alternative housing units for beneficiaries of the Rent-Control Law, in the presence of ministry officials, Invest-Gate reports.
During the meeting, the Fund’s CEO presented the overall implementation status of the low-income units under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” highlighting the completion of 788,000 housing units, with 216,000 units under construction, in addition to 36,000 units being offered.
The meeting also covered the implementation status of the Green Housing initiative – for low-income units totaling 54,600 units in the fifth and sixth phases – as well as the status of medium-income housing units under construction, totaling 28,000 units across several governorates and new cities.

Mortgage Finance and Cash Support for Citizens
During the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy emphasized to the ministry and authority officials responsible for monitoring implementation the importance of intensifying field visits to project sites to ensure the swift completion and delivery of housing units to citizens in line with the specified standards.
The meeting also reviewed the scale of mortgage finance for low-income citizens, benefiting 670,000 individuals, with a total of EGP 95 billion (mortgage finance) and EGP 10.4 billion (cash support) provided through 22 banks and 8 finance companies.
For medium-income citizens, mortgage finance was provided to 13,300 beneficiaries, totaling EGP 4.7 billion through 10 banks and 4 finance companies. In addition, performance indicators and the system for legal oversight of social housing violations were reviewed.
Citizen Registration via the Egypt Digital Platform
The Minister also followed up on citizen registration through the Egypt Digital Platform, as part of completing the comprehensive database of cases subject to the Rent-Control Law. Applications are being accepted until April 12, 2026.
In this regard, the Minister directed intensified awareness campaigns and technical support to ensure accurate and correct data registration by citizens.
