Minister of Housing Reviews the Progress of “Downtown Towers” Project in New Alamein City

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, inspected the progress of the “Downtown Towers” project in New Alamein City, accompanied by officials from the Ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the New Alamein City Authority, Invest-Gate reports.

During the tour, the Minister reviewed implementation rates, façade works, and the various components of the Downtown Towers project, which is being developed in a similar model to the towers of the Central Business District (CBD) in the New Capital.

The project includes one iconic tower consisting of 67 floors with a height of 307 meters, in addition to two basement levels, with a total built-up area of 460,720 sqm. The tower comprises 743 residential units, commercial units, 80 hotel cabins, and parking facilities.

The project also includes four residential towers, each rising to a height of 200 meters and consisting of 54 floors per tower, with a total of 1,888 residential units, at a rate of 472 units per tower, in addition to commercial units.

The Minister ascended to the 66th floor of the iconic tower, where he reviewed ongoing construction works on-site, façade finishing works, and interior finishes, as well as the status of infrastructure works within the project.

The Minister also reviewed the executive status of the Downtown Lagoons project, a luxury tourism and entertainment development in New Alamein City. The project spans 745 feddans, with a development area of 350 feddans and a total built-up area of 636,207 sqm. It is based on an interconnected network of 11 artificial lakes with a total water area of 226,530 sqm, and includes seven functional islands featuring luxury accommodation units, sports and recreational facilities, a theater, water parks, and event areas. The project also includes a corniche covering 222,084 sqm designated for commercial and entertainment activities and green spaces, as well as 109 buildings designed in harmony with the surrounding water features.

During the tour, the Minister directed that investment opportunities within the project and in the surrounding lands be identified, in order to maximize their utilization and achieve the targeted development objectives for the area.
