Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Assem El-Gazzar, showcases the new projects’ developments in New Qena City, Invest-Gate reports.

The minister monitors executing the projects currently implemented in the city, especially facilities and services, stressing on the importance of finalizing them according to the schedule.

For his part, Ayman Rashad, Deputy Head of the New Qena City Development Authority, explains that the housing units in the city are within the framework of the presidential initiative, “Housing for All Egyptians”.

The initiative includes the implementation of 5,708 housing units, and another 912 housing units are ongoing in the project. Besides, 2,145 residential land plots have been handed over, in addition to 6,803 residential properties were allocated for social housing and 143 plots for distinguished housing.

Regarding the infrastructure implementation, Abdelhamid presents that the implementation of the first phase of the water purification plant in tNew Qena, with a capacity of 23.500 m3/day, has been completed.

Notably, New Qena is one of the urban communities implemented by the Ministry of Housing in Upper Egypt on an area of about 29,485 acres. Besides, New Qena is considered the urban extension of the mother city of Qena to solve the population increase and preserve the limited agricultural area in Upper Egypt.
