Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed said 25,000, projects worth over EGP 4 trn will have been implemented during the period from July 2014 to December 2021, Invest-Gate reports.
She also added in a May 11 statement that the period from July 2014 to December 2019 witnessed the completion of more than 16,000 development and service projects at a total cost of EGP 2.2 trillion, in addition to 9000 projects, with a total cost of EGP 2 trn.
Some 9,000 projects are being implemented with investments worth EGP 2 trn, El Saeed said in the ‘Seven Years of Building’ report issued by the ministry.
Concerning Upper Egypt and the border governorates, El Saeed indicated that the number of completed and ongoing projects in Upper Egypt governorates amounts to 4,446 at a total cost of about EGP 296 bn, of which 2,343 projects worth EGP 51 bn were completed.
The report indicated that the petroleum and mineral resources sector has seen the most projects with 326 worth a total cost of EGP 1.1 trn, of which 97 projects were completed at a cost of EGP 1 trn and other 229 projects are still under construction with total investments of more than EGP 47 bn during FY 2020/2021.
