Adel El Naggar, head of 6th of October City Development Authority, says that a preparatory session was held to implement the project of the Green City Action Plan for 6th of October City. This project was launched by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Invest-Gate reports.
El Nagar explains that the New Urban Communities Authority sets its development strategies in order to establish new urban centers, redistribute the population away from the narrow strip of the Nile Valley, and expand in the desert areas.
Additionally, the 6th of October City Authority seeks to make 6th of October City one of the first cities in Egypt in terms of quality of life, sustainability, and attracting investment. Hence, the authority implements many infrastructure projects within the state’s plan to achieve sustainability and new urban expansions.
In a similar vein, Mohamed Khamis Shaaban, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investors Association and deputy of the Board of Trustees, says that the Green Cities Action Plan (GCAPs) project offers a comprehensive strategy to progress sustainable investment. Additionally, systematic measures will be considered to identify investment opportunities and priority projects with implementation directions in all the city’s sectors.
