The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities announces the inauguration of the 38th Annual African Union Housing Finance (AUHF) Conference on Monday, November 28th, with the rubric “A Green Urban Future for Affordable Housing,” Invest-Gate reports.
The conference is attended by several African officials including housing ministers of Gabon and Zimbabwe, in addition to representatives from regional and institutional entities, Mai Abdelhamid, CEO of the Social Housing Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF), reveals.
She adds that officials from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the UN Habitat program, and Habitat for Humanity International, as well as a huge number of Egyptian and African developers and mortgage companies.
Abdelhamid says that the event complements Egypt’s efforts to contribute to the preservation of the climate and reduction of pollution and the adverse impact thereof, which was crowned by hosting the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh.
She notes that the AUHF is held between 28 and 30 November in Cairo, adding that some events are hosted on the sidelines of the event including MOCK SHARKROOM innovation awards.
The first day of the AUHF is opened by high-ranking guests, Abdelhamid unveiled, adding that the second session is focused on “Green Thinking.”
The third session is concerned with the “Green Urban Future in Egypt” and “Green Buildings”, she remarks.
SHMFF’s head maintains that the second day of the event includes two sessions on green finance and eco-friendly life, while the last day sees the meeting of the board of directors of the AUHF.
