MIPIM 2026 Brings Global Real Estate Leaders to Cannes

Launch of the World’s Leading Real Estate Event

The global real estate exhibition MIPIM 2026 officially opened on March 9, 2026, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, widely recognized as the world’s most prominent annual event for real estate investment and urban development, Invest-Gate reports.

The exhibition runs until March 13, bringing together more than 20,000 professionals from nearly 90 countries, including representatives of around 70% of the world’s top 100 investment managers overseeing assets worth over €4 trillion, according to Invest-Gate.

Debating the Future of Cities and Digital Transformation

The event gathered leading investors, developers, and decision-makers to discuss the future of cities and real estate investment amid rapid economic and technological transformations.

During the opening session, French economist Philippe Aghion delivered a keynote speech highlighting the role of innovation and technology in supporting digital and green transitions, as well as the importance of public policies in boosting productivity and sustainable urban development. His remarks referenced the concept of Creative Destructionto explain shifts in the modern economy.

Workshops and Specialized Panels

The exhibition also features numerous workshops and panel discussions covering sustainable city development, real estate innovation, and global financing strategies.

In addition, the Data Centers Summit – From Bits to Bricks focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure in shaping the future of data centers and real estate assets.

Sustainability at the Core of Real Estate Strategies

A survey conducted by GRESB in collaboration with MIPIM showed that sustainability remains central to real estate corporate strategies.

Around 66% of respondents confirmed maintaining their commitment to sustainability practices, while 44% indicated plans to further enhance environmental performance in 2026.

Empowering the Next Generation of Industry Leaders

The exhibition also launched the largest cohort of the MIPIM Challengers initiative, which included 43 young professionals under the age of 31 working in the real estate sector.

The program aims to empower the next generation of industry leaders through specialized training in innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence applications.

Sovereign Wealth Funds and the RE-Family Summit

This year’s edition saw participation from major sovereign wealth funds, including Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Qatar Investment Authority, Mubadala Investment Company, and Norges Bank Investment Management.

The event also hosted the RE‑Family Summit, which brought together family offices and institutional investors to discuss global real estate investment strategies and market opportunities.

Launch of MIPIM Middle East

Organizers also announced the first edition of MIPIM Middle East, scheduled to take place in Riyadh on October 20–21, 2026.

The event aims to serve as a regional platform connecting international investors with regional decision-makers while supporting large-scale development projects and the growth of the Middle East’s real estate sector.

MIPIM is widely regarded as a key global platform for exchanging insights and expertise among real estate leaders.

It provides a space to discuss the future of cities, including digital transformation, sustainability, and climate adaptation, reinforcing its position as a major global gathering that brings together investment, innovation, and urban development.
